Foundations
As a teacher I try to facilitate self-study and internal inquiry and aim to help my students cultivate a relationship with themselves that stems from their internal felt sense. With a mix of detailed alignment and space to explore individual sensation I aim to help students cue into subtle shifts and changes in awareness through movement in a space that is approachable for all bodies.
Background
I first found yoga thirteen years ago after stumbling upon a twenty-minute Yoga For Beginners VHS tape. I was immediately intrigued by the introspective nature of yoga as I had never pursued physical activity with the intent to actually feel my body. For most of my life I tried to take up less space and consequently came to yoga as a means to finally exist in my body without trying to change it or shrink it. From this simple beginning yoga has helped me entirely reshape my view of and relationship with my body. Through many years of practice yoga has been the doorway to embodied living and this is what continually brings me back.
Education
I am fascinated by the complex experiences that we each have as humans and have studied and received my BA in Psychology at Portland State University. I completed my 200-hour teacher training here at The Bhaktishop in 2016 and am endlessly grateful for the insight and knowledge that has been shared with me.
